Did You Know?

We launched the Libraries 2020 campaign as the nation’s largest voter engagement campaign to help ensure that libraries have the funding they need to continue to serve their communities well into the future.

Did you know that there are more Libraries in the United States than Starbucks or McDonalds? (TWEET THIS)

Did you know that more Americans attend library programs than MLB or NBA games combined? (TWEET THIS)

Did you know Americans visit their libraries more than 1.3 billion times? (TWEET THIS)

But most importantly, did you know that over 98% of library funding is dependent on the will of local voters and politicians? (TWEET THIS)

Without political support, Americans lose out on access to this incredible resource. That’s why we launched the Libraries 2020 campaign as the nation’s largest voter engagement campaign to help ensure that libraries have the funding they need to continue to serve their communities well into the future. But we can’t do it without you.

Thanks to a generous offer from Library Juice Academy, your donations will be matched!

We want to put your donations to work in 2020 to build voter and political support for library funding. Your donations will help us educate both voters and legislators about the value and importance of libraries in the United States. In fact, every $10 we raise helps us reach 1,000 more Americans who care about libraries. Your donations also go directly to support libraries at the ballot box and every $1 we raise helps us ensure over $1,600 in stable yearly library funding. That means that a donation of $100 will help us talk to 10,000 Americans and has the potential to help us win over $160,000 in stable, local, library funding.

You have an opportunity to make a big difference in the lives of millions of Americans who use libraries by making your Giving Tuesday donation here!

Your contributions go to support 4 critical activities that ensure that libraries will be funded well into the future.

  1. Help us make direct contributions to local library campaigns and elections
  2. Allow us to provide pro-bono tools and resources to library campaigns for political initiatives
  3. Support or oppose legislation that impact libraries’ ability to serve their communities
  4. Conduct national voter education about the importance and impact of libraries through television, radio, print, and digital media

Your donations allow us to provide all of this at no cost to the libraries and library organizations that we work with!
